What’s the price of your drapes?
Our window treatments are custom so the pricing varies according to a variety of factors including the size of your windows, fabric selection and other customization options that you choose. Do you charge for your phone consultation?
Our initial phone and video design consultation calls are complementary and we work with customers all across the United States.
How can I view the color of materials you have?
The best way to view fabric colors and textures is to do so in your own home. After our initial video conference call, we will put together a color palette for you which includes large-sized fabric swatches and hardware samples that you can view against your walls and furniture to get the full effect of the materials and how they will compliment your unique home decor.
How can I see what these drapes will look like in my home?
The best way to get a good feel for what our window treatments will look like in your home is to schedule a complimentary video conference call with one of our designers. On this call, our designers will recreate the rooms you are working on in 3D and then overlay the window treatments for you in real time. After our this initial video conference call, we will put together a color palette for you which includes large-sized fabric swatches, hardware samples and full-color illustrations that you can view against your walls and furniture to get the full effect of the materials and how they will compliment your unique home decor.
Can I send you pictures of my windows?
You are welcome to send pictures of your windows via email or social media in advance of your complimentary video conference call with one of our designers. Please note that sending in your pictures does not replace a video conference call as there are specific questions that our designers will need to ask you live in order to provide you with the most appropriate designs, colors and textures for your home.
Do your drapes come with lining or backing?
All of our custom drapes are made with fine quality lining to extend the life of your drapes as well as enhance the way they drape.
What is the standard drapery finish length?
Most standard draperies vary from 84" long, however we recommend that you use draperies that are 90" long for a ceiling that is 8 feet high. The reason for this is to avoid having light come thru the top the window.
How many panels does it take to cover a standard window ?
This number depends on the desired level of fullness for your drapes. A standard fullness being 2.5 times, would mean that 2 panels would be required to cover a standard 45" wide window.
What is the minimum or maximum window width combos can be used for?

Do you offer installation services?
We offer complete installation services within the greater Los Angeles area. If you are outside of the Los Angeles area, please see our FAQ: How do I get my draperies installed if I order them from you but I’m outside your Los Angeles service area?

We work with customers all across the United States and there are two options for installation if you are outside of our service area: 1. We've made our Ready-To-Install (RTI) drapery line super easy to install yourself. And we've had people from all walks of life install these elegant drapes all by themselves. Or we can tap our network to help you locate a competent local installer and work with them through to completion of your project. We've been in business for over 37 years and have a large network of professional installers all across the USA and most likely have someone near you.
Does all of your Crystal drapery hardware have to be custom ordered?
No, you may take advantage of our stock program that consists of several items in different colors. Please visit our Stock Hardware Program webpage.
Do you have crystal drapery hardware in stock?
Yes we have 4 different standard colors of Hold-Backs, Crowns, Scrolls, and Combos available in stock, you may visit our Stock Hardware Program page for details.
What types of drapery fabric do you carry?
Our fabric selection is consists of luxurious chromatic silks, natural linens, cottons and polyesters.
What is a good fabric for draperies?
This depends on the type of use. Most common draw drapes are made of polyester fabrics, however for stationery or side panels silk or natural fabrics are recommended.
Do you sew curtains or drapes if I bring you my own fabric?
Yes we have a full drapery and upholstery workroom and can cater to almost all types of drapery needs.
How long does it take to make custom drapes?
Custom drapes may take up to 6 weeks to complete and ship from the time all orders have been confirmed, this time depends on the type of the order.
Do you carry Ready Made Drapery Panels?
We have a limited selection of fine silk drapes that are lined and interlined.
What is the projection for the scroll?
Our scrolls usually have a 3½” projection with an extension screw which allows them to extend out to 5½” long. We recommend these projections if you are only using 1 layer of window treatments, if you are planning on using more than one layer window treatments, we recommend that you order the 5½” projection which can extend out to 9”.
What is the projection for the hold backs?
Our Holdbacks usually have 3 ½” Projection with an extension screw which allows them to extend to 51 /2” long. We recommend these projection if you are only using 1 layer of window treatments, if you are planning of using more than one layer window treatments, we recommend that you would order the 5 ½” projection which can extend out to a 9” projection.
How many widths of fabric is recommended for the scrolls?
The total widths of fabric needed is based on the size of the scroll. French Scroll- between 1 to 1½ Large Venetian Scroll- between 2 to 2½ Napoleon Scroll- 2 widths tp 2½ Victorian Ivy- 1 Roman Leaf- 1 Gothic- 1½ to 2 Caesar- 2 to 2 ½
At what angle do I install the scroll?
We recommend a 12” angle for our French Scroll and a 16” angle for our Large Venetian Scrolls. This means that your first and 2nd mounting brackets are this far apart when properly mounted.
What are the diameters of the Iron rods?
Our iron rods are available in 1¼” and 1” round.
In what lengths are the iron rods available?
Our iron rods are available in any custom size, however we can not ship more than 9’ long which means that we may need to put a splice in the middle to accommodate larger rods.
What size scrolls should I use?
We recommend our French Scrolls for all windows up to 10 feet high and our Large Venetian Scrolls are recommended for window heights up to 20 feet.
How many wires come with your scrolls?
All of our scrolls come with one drapery wire, however our 5-piece combos and our 3-piece combos come with 2 wires (one wire for the valance fabric and one wire for side panels). If you are interested in more wires, you may order them separately for a small fee.
How do I dress my corner window using your scrolls?
Please refer to our design gallery and drawings on the site for design ideas that will accommodate every type and style of window.
Is there any additional charge for non-standard colors?
Yes. The following custom colors are available for an additional fee: 18%- Classic Ivory and White 20%- Old Black, Walnut, Mission Brown, Platinum Black, Platinum White, Silver Gold, Old Yellow No Upcharge - Black.
What is a valance?
A decorative layer of window treatment that is usually mounted over the drapes and sheers.
What is a swag?
A type of valance window dressing. There are 3 types of swags: 1. Scarf swag: Piece of fabric that is hemmed along the edge and is draped/scarfed over any piece of hardware. 2. Structured swag: a prefabricated piece of drapery material that is ready to be mounted on drapery hardware. Can include our “Perfect Swag” technology. 3. Scroll Swag: A piece of fabric that usually has a pocket on one side for our patented drapery wire to slip through.
How do I figure out fabric yardages for a scroll swag?
Usually we recommend you take the width of the window and multiply it by 1.75 to determine the length of fabric needed. We recommend you use 1½ width of fabric per length given the fabric is 54 inches wide. We do not recommend exceeding 84 inches in the width if it does exceed we recommend using a second scroll on the opposite side and using the crown or the hold back in the center where the scroll swags will meet.
How many widths of fabric do I need for a scroll swag?
We recommend 1½ width per scroll valance.
Do you offer in-home design consultations in my state?
At this time we offer complimentary video conference calls with our designers for customers who are outside the greater Los Angeles area.

You are welcome to view our design gallery for design ideas on all types of windows. You can also schedule a complimentary video consultation call where one of our expert designers will show you design ideas that will work for your patio doors in real time.
How does international shipping work?
If you live outside of the United States, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain shipping information and confirm delivery options and availability for your country. We ship around the world and will secure the most current and favorable shipping rates from our carriers. Shipping charges include all estimated duties, customs, fees, taxes etc. at the time of the quote, however additional duties and value added taxes (VAT) may be assessed by your country customs office. Any additional fees or duties levied are at the sole discretion of your local customs agent and Galaxy-Design is not responsible for them. Please check with your local customs office to confirm any additional taxes or fees that may be assessed.
Do you ship fabric swatches?
Yes, we have complete design palettes available for shipping that include: Oversized fabric samples for panels, sheers and swags Drapery hardware samples with and without Swarovski crystal elements Design illustrations
Do you offer a discount if I am buying draperies or hardware for multiple windows?
Yes, we have discount options depending on how many windows you will be purchasing for. Please call us directly to discuss options 213-624-2120 Extension 1.
Can I order your hardware and paint it myself?
No, our hardware comes fully painted in your choice of 4 elegant standard colors. You also have the option of selecting from a full variety of additional custom colors upon request.
